December 2021 Volunteer of the Month - Darrell John

Meet Darrell John, USO Stuttgart’s December Volunteer of the Month!

Darrell began volunteering this past Summer, during our biggest celebration of the year, Sun & Fun. It was no small feat, but Darrell jumped in and took care of the heavy lifting! Since then, Darrell has done so much for our military community! With passions such as photography, cooking, and wood-working, Darrell has been a huge asset to programs like MilSpouse Workshops, Thanks For Giving, Thanksgiving, Toy Drive, and two Christmas Dinners! Most notably, Darrell sat in as Santa Clause for this year’s Pictures with Santa event. Not only did he dress up as the big man for 8 hours straight, but he was also responsible for all of the amazing pictures that were shot and shared that day (with the help of his amazing wife, Sam, of course). We could not have survived the holidays without Darrell’s hard work, fancy photography equipment, turkey-baking talents, and holiday enthusiasm! Despite having a full-time job, Darrell has donated over 65 hours of his time to support our Stuttgart community!

No matter what big event we are planning, we can always count on Darrell as the muscle behind the operation. We are so grateful to know Darrell and have him as part of the USO family. Thank you for everything, Darrell!
