October 2020 Volunteer of the Month - Mara Butners

Three cheers for Mara, USO Stuttgart’s October Volunteer of the Month! Mara joined the USO Stuttgart team in April at the start of the COVID19 restrictions, but she sure didn’t let that slow her down. She has brought her warm welcoming smile to USO programs of all kinds, both virtually and in-person. You may have seen her in-person at programs such as Quarterly Lunch, National Play-Doh Day, or National Dessert Day… just to name a few. Or maybe you noticed her handy work from behind the scenes in packing USO Welcome Kits for newcomers to the community or making cotton candy ahead of time to give away at the AFRICOM Olympics. And those virtual moments that were mentioned? Mara could even be found assisting with Virtual Volunteer Orientation and welcoming new volunteers to the team! Mara is a powerhouse of positivity, and we are grateful to have her on the USO volunteer team and connecting with our deserving community!
