USO Discover Germany: Train trip to Tϋbingen with punting boat ride

Want to get out of town but don’t want to venture too far? Join us and learn how to navigate the German train and bus system to get off the base and explore some splendid towns that are not too far away. We meet at the front gate of Patch Barracks and ride the city bus to the Böblingen train station, where we’ll hop on the S1 train toward our destination of Tϋbingen. Your USO Escort will be with you the whole way to ensure you get to the right spots at the right time and will ensure you feel comfortable so you can enjoy this great trip. You’ll meet your guide in Tϋbingen where you’ll get a tour of this adorable city then have free time to eat lunch and explore on your own. After that you’ll get to explore in a different way that is a quintessential experience of the city, by punting down the Neckar River in a Stocherkahn boat. Once that boat ride has ended you’ll head back to the train station and begin your journey back to Patch Barracks. It’s a great time of year to enjoy some outdoor time and activities on the water!

To reserve your spot on this free trip, stop by the USO Center in Panzer bldg 2915 beginning Thursday, June 1st at 8am. A deposit of $20/€20 per individual or $40/€40 per family is required at time of sign up, but is fully refunded on the trip.
